Dinner & Drinks for Two - 33% Off Neapolitan Cuisine
What We Love At Real Italian Gusto, authentic Neapolitan cuisine is served in a warm and inviting setting. Whet your appetite with a glass of wine or a beer as you consider the dinner menu. Antipasti like crisp bruschetta and fried eggplant topped with mozzarella and tomato sauce are delicious precursors of what’s to come. Pizzas are baked-to-order in an oven sourced from Florence. Options range from the Abruzzi (with mozzarella, taleggio, pears and walnuts) to the Liguria (pesto, sundried tomatoes and roasted eggplant). Pasta lovers can indulge in the likes of classic carbonara or lasagna. Also on offer are traditional dishes like chicken Marsala and cod with tomato sauce, olives and potatoes.
Owned by two Italian expats, this popular Medford Square restaurant is a destination for its crispy Neapolitan pies, freshly made pastas and homey atmosphere. Helming the kitchen is Ciro Langella, a fifth-generation pizza chef from Naples. Using local and imported ingredients, as well as an oven brought all the way from Florence, Chef Langella creates traditional dishes that transport diners to the Mediterranean in a single bite.
Classic starters range from a caprese salad to a platter of prosciutto and burrata to arancini (fried risotto balls). Pizzas run a delicious gamut; lean classic with margherita, or try a house original, like the tronchetto al pesto (fontina, cherry tomatoes, basil pesto, mozzarella and fig jam). Pastas, such as risotto with gorgonzola and pears, shouldn’t be missed, while hearty dishes like pancetta-wrapped pork tenderloin will satisfy any palate. But no meal at Real Italian Gusto is complete without dessert. Whether diners opt for a Nutella-filled calzone, housemade cannolis or tiramisu, they can expect to leave feeling full and satisfied.
